-
Henna is done atleast 3 days, minimum 2 days before the wedding/event.
- When done 3 days before, the bride has to keep the paste overnight and remove it the next day.
- When done 2 days before, the bride has to keep the paste on for a minimum of 4 hours.
- Guests should keep the paste for a minimum of 30 minutes
- Tattoo is done atleaste one houre before the event
- To remove the paste simply wash it with water
- The skin part, where henna has to be applied should be cleaned with soap and water, no cream or oil should be applied to the skin
- Henna will be drawn by using freshly mixed natural henna paste
- The paste takes around 10 minutes to dry
- After the paste dries, a freshly mixed natural sealant will be applied which will help the paste to stay on the skin longer
- Once the henna is done and dried and the sealant is applied, place 10-12 cloves in a pan and heat it, ones the smoke is realized steam the henna with this smoke for a couple of minutes. Be careful as it can get hot.
- Leave the henna paste on overnight or for four hours or as per your discussion with the artist. The longer you leave the paste on the darker is the color.
- To remove the henna paste, apply some natural oil e.g olive, sunflower, on the paste and scrape the paste off. Ones all the paste is off apply Vicks or tiger balm to the area with henna. Avoid contact with water for the next 12-24 hour
- Freshly removed henna stain is orange. It takes 24-40 hours for the stain to get dark
- Henna stain will stay for around 5-7 days before it slowly fades off.
- The henna artist will arrive earlier at the venue for the bride (time to be decided according to the design chosen) such that most of the design is done before the guests arrive. There would still be part of the henna left to be done when the guests arrive so they can also watch henna being done and once done the bride is free and can enjoy the rest of the evening while the artist starts applying henna to the guests
